Lucy Guest.

Voluntarily teaches English and sanskrit in the after school project and teaches specialist classes in Sanskrit grammar upto masters level alongside her own Sanskrit studies.

Devatma Dubey.

Teaches English as a volunteer as well as specialist sanskrit literature classes upto masters level. He is currently pursuing a P.H.D in Sanskrit literature.

Helen Dhawan.

Joined the team in 2012. She was born in 1970 in a small Darjeeling village. After completing high school she married and moved to Kathmandu, Nepal and trained as a teacher. She taught at Dreamland public school, an elite private school and in the evenings taught groups of underprivileged children for free from home. During this time she was awarded the prestigious presidents prize. Sadly her husband suffered kidney failure and hoping to find a cure she left with her son and husband for Varanasi. Recently he suddenly suffered a fatal heart attack. She has for the last year been teaching the illiterate and the youngest children in the after school classes and will be the lead teacher in the kindergarten morning school that starts this May.

Anoop Tripathi

Shukla Yajurveda Acharya. Studied in Varanasi since childhood and trained in the same tradition as the well known Vedic scholar Professor Somnath Vajpayee. His vedic lineage can be traced back 800 years and is considered the best in Varanasi. He teaches sat swar vedas and also ensures correct pronunciation of Panini's Ashtadhyayi.

Priti Upadhyay.

Priti like Priyanka is a student here and teaches, Maths, science, commerce, accountancy to children in the after school classes. She has recently completed her finals in B.Com from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi.

Pragya Mishra.

Has grown up in Benares and studied Sanskrit to Hindi translation alongside Lucy five years ago. She is currently an undergraduate studying Sanskrit literature and studies sanskrit literature here in the mornings. She teaches Sanskrit here in the after school project.


She lives with her younger sister and mother following the passing of her father. She teaches basic English and Hindi writing skills to the younger children in the after school classes. She is currently an undergraduate at B.H.U..


Is Shafali's sister and teaches art and craft on Sundays.

Mani Shankar Pandey

Teaches classical sangeet on Sundays on a voluntary basis.
